The 'old' bridge is an iconic landmark - it's a unique and exhilarating place to run - open to the elements on all sides and with fantastic views, you are literally running between sea and sky!

'Rogueruns' are taking over this event in 2025. Previously organised by Severn Bridge Half Marathon Ltd and taking part on August Bank Holiday Sunday, the 10k was run on the motorway carriageway itself. Due to increasing volumes of traffic and road repairs on the network, 'highways' will no longer close the motorway for the event. In 2025 will we run the event on the downstream access-way to the side and then along the 'Old Passage Road'. The event finishes in the 'underpass' which we use for the 5 mile night series. This will be an mid-week evening race.

As well as the officially measured 10k distance, we will be offering a measured one mile route for both Juniors and adults - it'll be a super fast flat course with good PB potential.

Currently, we are planning to hold the mile at 7:40pm. The 10k will start just before at 7:30pm. These times are approximate and subject to change when planning is finalised.

Medals for all races included, as is a hot drink and cake after. 'Live' results displayed on large TV screen at finish. Results posted to web same evening.

Junior & Adult Mile 7:40pm - expected to be very quick with a slight net downhill and just one turn around a cone.
10km 7:30pm - it's not totally flat but it is fast. Great views of the bridge as you return along the 'old passage road'.

Venue: 'The Underpass'. NP16 5TY
We use the 'underpass' as the venue for our night 5 mile races so expect a similar 'party' atmosphere. Plenty of toilets and inclusive cake/hot drinks after.

One Mile Route

The one mile route starts on the bridge above the river Wye, runs onto a turn around cone and then finishes in the under pass. The route is very flat with a slight descent to the underpass at the end.

10km Route

The 10k starts on the bridge above the river Wye, runs across the bridge to the Old Passage road, and onto a turn around point. On the way back you are afforded great views of the bridge. There is a small incline to negotiate on the way back to the bridge. After running across the bridge the finish is in the underpass below J2.
