Water Station Time Splits (first split was 5 miles plus the out and back)

After a successful 'template' event in 2020 we've decided to repeat the marathon event in 2022. The distance is accurately measured and certified and will have a UKA permit, so your time will appear on PoT and Run Britain.

Fees: Marathon £23 (£25 unafil)

Final Race Day Details for competitors

Date: Sunday 24th April. 9:00am.

Venue: Oldbury Power Station - ample parking on hard standing.
Course: Marathon- Country lanes. 5 laps of a very flat loop. One Mile - a linear one mile tarmac route on very flat country lanes

Cut-off times: These events are running events and we would expect all participants to run the majority of the course. The event is not really suitable for anyone taking longer than 5 hours to complete the marathon.

General information - a 'covid aware' event

How will it work? The marathon is chip timed - with a single mass start at 9am.

There are toilets at event HQ, then on the marathon at the lap point which you can visit on each lap. Sanitizing spray, hand gel and wipes will be available to use before and after your visit. There will be bottled water at each water station. You can leave your own drinks/nutrition here or get your support team to provide on each lap.

Why laps on the marathon? We are trying to keep the event as self contained as possible to make traffic management and general organisation simple and manageable. Course accuracy - the marathon has been officially measured and will have a AUKCM certificate. A route map for the marathon can be seen below:

The route is 5 laps of this loop.

As you can see there are no contours crossed on the route so it's very flat. We park at the power station and walk the short distance to the race HQ and race loop to start.
